Karan & Sejal Reception & Wedding

Wedding

A Grand Dream for Real | Sejal & Karan’s Marwari Wedding Celebrations | Ramachandra Convention Centre

The invitation to Sejal and Karan’s wedding celebrations spoke of grandeur, but experiencing it firsthand at the Ramachandra Convention Centre in Chennai was something else altogether. This venue, renowned for hosting significant gatherings, proved to be an inspired choice. Its sheer scale was immediately apparent as guests started arriving for the Sangeet. It was clear from the outset – this was going to be a wedding on a truly magnificent scale.

The Sangeet night at the Ramachandra Convention Centre was he first glimpse into the wedding’s elaborate world, and it was instantly captivating. Even the entrance was designed to impress. Walking through the doorway, guests felt like stepping into another, more glamorous dimension. As you can see in the photos, the entrance was crafted from these stunning golden geometric panels. They formed a sort of tunnel, a shimmering gateway that hinted at the festivities within. The hexagonal patterns in the panels were quite striking, catching the light in such a way that it felt like walking through a jewel. And then, framing this golden passage, were these lush floral arrangements. Masses of roses, in soft whites and vibrant corals, softened the metallic sharpness of the structure with their organic forms and colours. The lighting was cleverly done, not harsh, but a gentle wash that enhanced the texture of the panels and created a sense of warm welcome, drawing everyone further into the celebration.

Once inside, the sangeet stage decoration was simply phenomenal. The backdrop was this huge, sweeping semi-circle of creamy fabric. It wasn’t just hung flat; it was draped and folded in a way that gave it depth and movement, like a soft, luxurious wave. This created a perfect, understated background that allowed the other decorations to truly shine. And above it, along the top edge, was this thick garland of flowers. They echoed the roses from the entrance in colour, those corals and whites, which created a lovely visual link right from the start. This floral touch against the fabric was just beautiful, adding a natural vibrancy to the scene. The stage itself was surprisingly open. There weren’t too many props or distractions, which made perfect sense once the performances began – all eyes needed to be on the dancers and singers. The small potted plants were kept around, just enough greenery to keep it feeling fresh without cluttering the space. And the lighting during the performances? Masterful. It focused entirely on the stage, creating these pools of light that followed the performers, really amplifying the energy and excitement in the room. The stunning sangeet decor, as a whole, was just right for the occasion. It was grand, definitely, befitting a big fat Marwari wedding, but it also felt sophisticated, not overdone. It struck this perfect chord with the guests, of joyous celebration and set such a high standard for what was to come. A lot of guests got thinking, if the Sangeet is this incredible, what will the other celebrations be like?

WHITE WHISPERS AND CRYSTAL SPARKLE, SEJAL’S RECEPTION

After the vibrant Sangeet, the wedding celebrations moved into a different key for the Bride’s Reception. This was still at the Ramachandra Convention Centre, but the atmosphere had transformed completely. If the Sangeet was all about lively colours and dynamic energy, the Bride’s Reception was like stepping into a world of calm refinement. The grand reception decor here was a lesson in understated opulence.

Walking into the hall, the first thing everyone noticed was the dramatic change in the colour scheme. Everything was softer, lighter. Whites, creams, and these gentle pastel shades dominated. It created this immediate sense of peace and elegance, a real contrast to the Sangeet’s buzz. And the stage? It was just breathtakingly designed. Instead of a fabric backdrop, we had constructed this incredible structure like a Mughal palace archway. It was all in white, with intricate latticework. looking so grand, so historical, almost like a piece of art in itself. This archway wasn’t just decoration; it really framed Sejal and Karan beautifully, making them the absolute centre of attention, which, of course, they were.

Then there were the flowers. Compared to the Sangeet, the floral arrangements here were more restrained, but in a way that amplified their impact. Tall, slender vases held these stunning bouquets of white lilies and roses. The purity of the white flowers against the soft background colours was just exquisite, adding to the overall feeling of serenity. These weren’t just scattered around randomly; they were placed thoughtfully to draw your eye to the stage and along the walkways, adding height and structure to the decor. The lighting, was crucial in creating the mood. It was soft and diffused, washing the entire hall in this gentle glow. It really highlighted all the white and pastel shades, making it feel almost dreamlike. And the subtle uplighting around the archway and the flowers gave everything dimension, stopping the white from feeling flat. Crystal chandeliers, hanging around exquisitely caught and scattering the light. They added a touch of luxury, a quiet shimmer that wasn’t at all showy. Even the seating and tables continued this theme of quiet luxury. White tablecloths, delicate china, and sparkling glassware – it was all in the details. The table centerpieces were like smaller versions of the stage arrangements, those elegant white flowers in tall vases, which tied everything together so nicely. Simply put, the Ramachandra Convention Centre reception decor for the Bride’s side was just the picture of sophisticated grandeur. It was a space created for a celebration that was both majestic and deeply refined, a visual expression of calm joy and timeless grace. It felt like a very special and personal celebration.

Reception

CELEBRATING IN COLOUR: A LIVELY AMBIANCE FOR KARAN’S RECEPTION

The Groom’s Reception, took place at Amma Arangam. It was interesting to see how the decor shifted again, taking on yet another personality while still feeling very much a part of the overall wedding story. The grand reception decor here felt like a crescendo, a final burst of celebratory energy.

At Amma Arangam, the entrance itself was a style statement. It wasn’t just a simple archway; it was more like entering a vibrant tunnel. As you can see in the photos, we had created this passage with pillars that were completely entwined with incredibly bright, colourful floral garlands; not to mention the mirchi lights that spelt magic. The contrast was really striking – the dark structure providing a strong base for this explosion of floral colour. The garlands were mainly roses, I think, but in these much richer, warmer shades – deep reds, vibrant pinks. It made walking in feel like entering a really romantic and inviting space. And it wasn’t just visually striking; there was a subtle fragrance in the air from all those flowers, which added another layer to the experience. I noticed there was lighting incorporated within the floral arrangements, which cast this soft, diffused glow. It wasn’t just about illumination; it was about enhancing the textures and making those colours even richer and more inviting.

The stage for the Groom’s Reception had a very different vibe compared to the previous events. It was a more dynamic design, more about movement and energy. In one of the photos, you can see Sejal and Karan surrounded by what looks like those cold sparkler fountains. It was such a dramatic touch, a real moment of celebratory showmanship built right into the reception. It wasn’t just static decor; it was like the decor itself was participating in the celebration. The stage itself, although it’s a bit hard to see all the details in the photos because the focus is on the couple and the sparklers, was decorated with flowers that matched the entrance tunnel in terms of colour. This created a nice visual link, a sense of continuity as you moved through the venue. The Couple’s Reception Dance really captured the energy of the evening. The dedicated dance floor area with these really dynamic lights was there for the guests to get into the groove in tune with the foot tapping music. It wasn’t just general lighting; it was club style lighting, designed to shift colours and patterns, really amping up the atmosphere during the dancing. Lighting was almost another element of the decor, not just for seeing, but for creating a mood, for driving the energy of the party. Overall, the Amma Arangam reception decor for the Groom’s side was just pure, unadulterated joy. It moved away from the more serene feel of the Bride’s Reception and really embraced a more energetic, visually exciting environment. It was perfect for an evening that was all about celebrating, dancing, and just pure festivity. It felt like the perfect way to cap off such a grand wedding celebration.
